I'm still alive

hey everyone,

Well, it's been kind of a stretch since I last put up a post. THe last few weeks have been a little frustrating and I've had a lot of unforseen issues that have come up to deal with. But I have a little free time at the moment to put up a quick entry.

After a few bland or unengaging weekends Shelley and I have made a goal of trying to do something out of the way or at least interesting each weekend. So, last weekend we drove up to the local ski resort to do some hiking. Bogus basin is a ski resort in the winter and during the summer there are a lot of great hiking trails to explore. The trails go for miles around the resort. Not only that, but there is also an eighteen hole frisbee golf course! It's very rough and some of the holes don't have a distinct path from the tee to the hole itself, which is awesome! Hiking shoes or sneakers would be recommended, not sandals. I quickly found this out as we explored the course.

Being up in the mountains was great. The day was a little on the cool side, so there weren't many other people around. Evergreen trees grow thick as you get higher up into the mountains. It was nice to be surrounded by trees again and made me feel at home. It's interesting how being in a forest makes you feel at peace.

well, more on that later. I gotta get some sleep.
