Holy lackluster bloggers, Batman!

Wow, we've been pretty bad bloggers lately. Especially me. I feel so ashamed.

Lots of stuff going on though. The weather is fluctuating between being amazingly hot one day (103 last Sunday) and then a day later being perfect (75 and sunny). Shelley and I went camping at an amazing place called the City of the Rocks over Memorial Day weekend with Ty and Tara. The designated campsites were all taken so we ended up camping on kind of rough BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land. Nothing like barebones camping. Hurray for pooping in the woods!

Anyway, the City of the Rocks is a real cool geological area and a hotspot for climbers. So we met some cool people around the campfire at night. There are a lot of great hiking trails in the surrounding mountains and the scenery is amazing. I posted some photos on photobucket. (Search for Omnidex) We took a really cool hike up to an area called the Idependence lakes. It's 3 hour hike up the side of a mountain. THe hike is challenging but reaching the lakes at the top is worth it. It's breathtaking at the top. We stopped to rest and fish at the top. I caught 2 fish after watching Ty and Tara catch a combined 8 fish in under an hour and then I dropped them in my excited fervor while trying to get them on the stringer. I am amazing.
